Program Description:
This comprehensive HVAC program is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration industry. The course is divided into four modules: Electricity in HVAC, Piping & Soldering, Gas Burner & Oil Operation & Service, and Refrigeration & Air Conditioning. Students will receive both classroom instruction and hands-on practical training focused on industry-relevant skills and equipment. Developed with input from local HVAC industry leaders, the program emphasizes safety, troubleshooting, system operation, and service procedures commonly used in the field. Upon successful completion, students will have the foundational knowledge and practical experience necessary to pursue entry-level positions within the HVAC industry.
EPA 608 Certification Review & Exam

Program Description:
Students who have completed all four modules through the ETA program will be eligible to take the EPA 608 Exam. Section 608 of the Federal Clean Air Act requires that all persons who maintain, service, repair or dispose of appliances that contain regulated substances be certified in proper refrigerant handling techniques.
A2L Refrigerant Certification Course & Exam

Program Description:
Students that have their universal 608 certification will be eligible to take the Low GWP/A2L refrigerant course and certification. The Low GWP Refrigerant Safety - A2L Refrigerants examination validates that a person possesses the knowledge to safely work with low GWP refrigerants and helps reduce liability.
Program Outcome
Upon successful completion, students are prepared for entry-level employment in the HVAC/R industry with foundational skills in electrical systems, piping and soldering, heating systems, and refrigeration and air conditioning. Graduates demonstrate the ability to safely install, service, and troubleshoot basic HVAC equipment in accordance with industry standards.
Students are eligible to earn EPA 608 Certification and A2L Refrigerant Certification, demonstrating competency in refrigerant handling and emerging low-GWP technologies, and supporting readiness for employment and continued advancement in the field.
