Commercial Driving SchoolCDL Classroom Instruction - 16 Hours

This 16-hour course is designed to help those adults who are planning to take the written Commercial Driver's License (CDL) test. The CDL is a written exam that is used as a way to obtain a permit used to applying for either a Class A or Class B License. A permit is necessary to participate in CDL Driving instruction to prepare for the CDL road test.  Students will be prepared for the following Department of Motor Vehicle written test.

• Air Brakes
• Hazardous Materials
• Combination Vehicles
• Wrecker Recovery
• Double and Triples
• Passengers
• Tank Vehicles

Class Schedule:   (Chose one of the following sessions)


  • Session I:  7/11/2018 - 8/02/2018
  • Session II:  9/12/2018 - 10/4/2018
  • Session III:  10/24/2018-11/15/2018
  • Session IV: 1/2/2019 - 1/30/2019  *Please note: Start Date Change* *Registration now open*

W, TH 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Tuition: $190 (effective 7/1/2018)

Classes are held at Southern Adirondack Education Center


• You must be 21 years old to obtain Class A License.
• You must be 18 years old to obtain Class B License.
• You must be able to demonstrate the ability to shift a manual transmission.

• This course is a prerequisite for enrolling in either Class A or Class B driving classes. Permit-holding adults must attend the classroom portion of the training if they plan to take the driving portion of the training in a BOCES vehicle.
